Andrea Lissoni (artistic director of Haus der Kunst, Munich) has initiated a site-specific commission series for the staff entrance in 2021 with the intention to support young artists from the region during the pandemic, as well as to provide the team with an uplifting moment upon entering and leaving the building during challenging times. It continues as specific support structure for local emerging artists since.
The building becomes a stage for their choreographies, and through interventions in it, the transformation into a new interconnect living organism continues. The large-scale light installation “Afterglow" by (then) Munich Academy student Luisa Baldhuber (class of Prof. Kogler) opened in February 2024.
Luisa Baldhuber has now completed her degree and has been accepted as a scholarship holder at PS61 Studios in Munich for 2025/2026.
How has the complex practice of this artist developed further, and in which subsequent works has Luisa Baldhuber unfolded since February 2024?
The artist talk between the curator and the artist in the exhibition “No talking for seven days” with Luisa Baldhuber and Robert Elfgen will provide more insights.
