Marco Schuler ⎮ New Works

Marco Schuler presents new works that immediately confront the visitor with all kinds of beings, figures and scenarios of all genres and genres, all of which seem to have sprung from the personal and social subconscious. The visitor is greeted by the steel sculpture "Radix", a disarmingly cheerful goblin, which with its pointed spikes also has a potential for danger and points explosively in all directions to Schuler's universe of almost 30 pictures. This armada, this panopticon, "those figures of the game of life", open up the whole spectrum of human expression, feeling and imagination between life and death with fantasy, joie de vivre, humour and profundity.

Marco Schuler (born 1972, lives and works in the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Professor Olaf Metzel and taught there. The painter, sculptor and video artist Schuler has been honoured with national and international awards. His works can be found in the collection of the Lenbachhaus and the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, among others. His last art-in-architecture project "Kinderkrippe am Stoppelfeld" was completed in 2023 for the city of Munich. In 2023, the Kunsthalle Darmstadt showed Marco Schuler's works under the title "Marco Schuler: Go! Go! Go!". His performative video "Schuler zieht sich an, 2000" was part of the "Solar Breath" exhibition at the Eres Foundation in Munich last year.
