Helicopter to fly over the vastness of the American steppes for a photo shoot? No problem. Drones to photograph the Kremlin from above? Definitely a problem. But not one that Dieter Blum would have capitulated to. (...) He says, "I've always gotten everything I wanted." (...) He portrayed Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic as well as Gerhard Schröder and Karlheinz Böhm. His credo: "I have always been interested in people." But he has also always been fascinated by the strength and beauty of the body. And so he captured the grace of the Moscow Bolshoi Theater and the magic of the Stuttgart State Ballet in fantastic body pictures. He has (...) photographed the unforgettable Ismael Ivo as Francis Bacon and got Jiri Jelinek to take daring leaps beyond all gravity in his studio. (...) The motifs are so different from the cowboys to the musicians, politicians and... to the dancers, they are different facets of masculinity. And so the exhibition in Munich is simply called "Men".
