AI & Qantum⎮Will humans be replaced by machines on the road to mortality?

Thursday July 4th, 2024, 7pm–9pm

BY PERSONAL INVITATION ONLY
Michael Brehm is one of the most active minds on the German start-up scene in the field of artificial intelligence. On the occasion of Art Düsseldorf on 12 April 2024, he discussed the topic "Culture, AI, Future." with Priska Pasquer (Priska Pasquer Gallery) and Walter Gehlen (Art Düsseldorf), moderated by Eric Wolzenburg (Allianz). He is co-founder and partner at the venture capital firm Redstone.VC.

The starting point for the discussion is the group exhibition "Living on my own" on current painting positions with Zohar Fraiman, Aneta Kajzer, Fritz Poppenberg and Marta Vovk (all "based in Berlin"), which addresses the perception of our identity, which is constantly being challenged by new types of media and artificial intelligence. The discussion with Michael Brehm revolves around the question "AI & Quantum: Will humans be replaced by machines on the road to immortality?" in the context of the themes of the paintings.

Michael Brehm was previously CEO of StudiVZ and founder of the eCommerce daily deal holding Rebate Networks (sold to Google) and the AI company i2x. With investments in companies such as Lieferando, Atheneum.ai, MrSpex and Qdrant, he has contributed to the success of the European start-up ecosystem. With his new investments, Michael Brehm pursues the goal of supporting the most innovative founders for the benefit of the planet and humanity. He is particularly interested in the development of infinite computing capacity through quantum computing, CO2-negative production processes and social innovation. Michael Brehm's vision is the fusion of man and machine that ultimately serves people. Redstone recently invested in Elon Musk's new AI company xAI.

In the context of the exhibition, the discussion will revolve around questions such as "What does AI mean for art and the artists' themes?", "Do we have to fear that we will all be replaced by AI?" or "What do AI and quantum mean for the economy, for politics, for people?".
