Michael Brehm is one of the most active minds on the German start-up scene in the field of artificial intelligence. He is co-founder and partner at the venture capital firm Redstone.VC.
The starting point for the discussion is the group exhibition "Living on my own" on current painting positions with Zohar Fraiman, Aneta Kajzer, Fritz Poppenberg and Marta Vovk (all "based in Berlin"), which addresses the perception of our identity, which is constantly being challenged by new types of media and artificial intelligence. The discussion with Michael Brehm revolves around the question "AI & Quantum: Will humans be replaced by machines on the road to immortality?" in the context of the themes of the paintings.

In her solo exhibition A calculus of the nervous system, Amélie Esterházy (born 1982, lives in Berlin) presents a series of new works that explore the connection between art and science.
Monopol Watchlist had already become aware of Amélie Esterházy's first solo exhibition in 2010 entitled "Default Values" at Galerie Wendt + Friedmann in Berlin: "...What are "default values"? Simply "default values"? The title of Amélie Grözinger's (now Esterházy) first solo exhibition also implies that there is a norm, a series in which mistakes are the exception. Such peculiarities and contradictions appeal to the artist..."

Press roundtable on the role of cultural journalism
Under the title Bloß keine Kritik! (Don't criticise!), I will be talking to Susanne Hermanski and Katja Kraft about the loss of importance of the arts in difficult times and the complex role of cultural journalism in the struggle for the survival of cultural offerings as we know them. Both renowned and experienced journalists have experienced how cultural journalism in print, radio, TV and the programme departments of the major public broadcasters is increasingly being manoeuvred to the sidelines, and not just since the pandemic and the comparison of culture with "brothels and zoos". This is a trend that I already experienced as a ZDF cultural journalist in the capital city studio in Berlin in the 1990s. What does culture itself have to do to remain relevant and generate an audience?
