young berlin artists | young berlin salon

On June 24th we will open YOUNG BERLIN ARTISTS, a group exhibition of internationally popular artists from a Berlin scholarship program.

Who are the artists?
In view of the war of aggression, the Ukrainian artist, Victoria Pidust, works abstractly on “falsification of images”. The painter Annabell Häfner shows "transit spaces of the modern world". In his practice, Maximilian Schröder deals with processes of value attribution and the creation of meaning, as well as with narratives that serve historical, social and societal localization. Royal College London graduate Johannes Bosisio fuses binary forms to create hybrids in his paintings. The Berlin artist Lukas Liese materializes his thoughts and comments on art-historical and social phenomena in the material stone, thereby showing the contemporary potential of one of the most classic media. In intimate, painterly and strangely diffuse works, Emil Urbanek deals with identity, transience and the in-between moment. In the case of the Monica Bonvicini student, Jule Tabea Martin, the (own) body no longer serves as an experimental surface, but substitutes for it: hair and fingernails. By combining different media in her works, Lisa Goetze examines the shifting of values, their disappearance and a possible emerging symbolism.
