Jaemin Lee | behncke gallery

Jaemin Lee studied painting under Günther Förg, Matthias Dornfeld and Gregor Hildebrandt at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich, from 2013 to 2020.

With the graduation exhibition „Tal“, he received the Prize of the Erwin & Gisela von Steiner Foundation and made his debut with the exhibition „Oh my Bernd“ at Haus der Kunst as part of the „Catacomb“ Debut Exhibition in 2021.

His first solo exhibition, „Eros’ Autism“, was held at Gallery an der Pinakothek, and in 2025 he participated in group exhibitions at the BMW Foundation and Munich Highlights.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Lee founded the exchange art project “LWMA: Lost Weekend Meets Young Art” to support and foster the development of Munich’s emerging art scene, where he continues to serve as curator.

Since 2024, he has also been the curator of the Artist Residency Munich & Gwangju (Germany & Korea), promoting cultural exchange between the two cities.
